Welcome to Technology at Roy Waldron Elementary!  
 
I am honored to serve as the Instructional Technology Coach for Roy Waldron. The best way to contact me is through my email: spatzd@rcschools.net
 
As the Instructional Technology Coach for RWS, my job includes (but not limited to):
 
  • facilitating the implementation and integration of technology in classrooms.
  • providing ongoing, job-embedded professional development for teachers, staff, and administration on infusing technology into the core curriculum areas.
  • model effective instructional practices using technology.
  • lead discussions with teachers on the latest research on technology integration.
  • assist teachers in using technology to assess student learning, differentiate instruction, and providing rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning experiences for all students. 
 
If you have a technology equipment issue, please use the email rwswo@rcschools.net so that Carol and I both are aware of any problems in the building.  Please be sure to include the following information:
 
  • your room number on the subject line
  • what type of equipment (i.e. student computer, teacher computer, printer, etc)
  • a detailed description of what is going on- the more details the better

November 2019 PD Offerings:
 
25th - Collaborate Classroom With Microsoft Teams 
2:45 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Microsoft Teams is a digital hub for assigning and collecting student work, providing feedback, collaborating, and grading student work online.  This is Microsoft’s answer to Google Classroom that brings conversations, content, and apps together in one place. Create collaborative classrooms or connect in professional learning communities– all from a single experience in Office 365. Teams also integrates with One Note Class Notebook.

Teams is only available to use with students in grades 3-12

19th - Station Rotation With Blended Learning - Focus on Math stations

14th - Bold School Questioning

2:45 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Using questioning stems from Bold School to increase Rigor and Relevance in your classroom.

 

23rd - Using Bold School High Effect Strategies with Nearpod

2:45 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

 

Direct Instruction when done with intention & in alignment to academic goals has a .6 effect size. During this session, learn how to use Nearpod to help determine when it’s time to move on or reteach. You can import your pre-existing PowerPoint presentations and embed formative questions, poll, videos, and quizzes. Students access your presentation on their devices, and you get great data reports after each presentation. Need ideas for blended learning or stations in your classroom? Leave this session ready to go!

 

February Offerings:

11th & 27th - Microsoft Accessibility Tools for Student Accommodations

3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Identify common IEP accommodations that could be met by using Office 365 accessibility tools.
