Book Care Policy

Read your book often, but PLEASE

  • Keep your book safe! Please, store it in your backpack when you are not using it.
  • Books are not toys. Treat them with care so they are in good shape for you and for others.
  • Do not write or color in your book. Don't cut or tear the pages either.
  • Younger sisters and brothers don't know about taking good care of books. Pets may also chew on books. Keep your book out of reach from them.
  • Keep your book clean and dry.  Please do not keep drink bottles in your backpack with your book and papers. Leaks and spills are bound to happen.
  • Use a bookmark or a piece of paper to mark your place and protect the spine of the book.
Important Note: Tell library staff if your book needs a repair. PLEASE, do NOT repair your book at home or in the classroom.

Circulation Policy

  • Books are due 6 days after checkout. During library class, students who return their books will be allowed to check out new books, so students should bring their library books to library class every week.
  • Library classes are 45 minutes long including time for students to select and check out new books.

Lost or Damaged Books
If a book is lost or damaged, it needs be paid for before another book may be checked out. A note will be sent home with the price of the book and will include an explanation of why the payment is required. A receipt will be given to the student when payment is made and the account is clear.
